## What is Sprout?

Sprout is the easiest way for everyday users to earn smart, personalised, risk-adjusted yield on their crypto. We simplify complex DeFi strategies into transparent, self-custody portfolios designed to match your risk profile and your investment goals.

## Quick Start

### 1. Create Your Account

Creating a Sprout account is simple:

1. Visit the Sprout app
2. Sign up using one of these methods:
   * Email
   * Apple account
   * Google account
   * Connect an existing wallet (supports all Base-compatible wallets via Privy)

### 2. Complete Your Risk Assessment

Answer a brief questionnaire about:

* Your financial goals
* Investment timeline
* Comfort with volatility
* Risk preferences

This generates your initial risk score and determines your starting strategy profile (Steady, Balanced, or Opportunistic).

### 3. Make Your First Deposit

**Supported Asset**: USDC\
**Supported Network**: Base\
**Minimum Deposit**: None\
**Maximum Deposit**: None\
**Fees**: No fees at this time

Simply:

1. Navigate to "Deposit"
2. Enter the amount of USDC you want to deposit
3. Confirm the transaction
4. Your funds will be allocated to yield strategies within 48-72 hours

### 4. Watch Your Balance Grow

Once allocated, you'll see:

* Daily balance updates
* Real-time yield accrual
* Current APY
* Full allocation breakdown in the transparency dashboard

Your strategy will automatically adapt over time based on your behavior and market conditions.

## Understanding Your Risk Profile

Sprout uses three main risk profiles:

### Steady (Score 0-40)

* **Best for**: Predictable, consistent growth
* **Characteristics**: Minimal APY fluctuations, stable daily returns
* **Example**: 10-15% annual returns with smooth, predictable growth

### Balanced (Score 40-75)

* **Best for**: Moderate variance with opportunity capture
* **Characteristics**: Some APY variance week-to-week
* **Example**: Returns ranging 12-18%, averaging higher than Steady

### Opportunistic (Score 75-100)

* **Best for**: Maximum yield optimization
* **Characteristics**: Significant APY swings to capture best opportunities
* **Example**: Daily APY might range 8-25%, highest long-term returns
